Do LEDs generate heat? |
|
LEDs create very little heat, which provides a perfect solution for a variety of applications where high temperatures can cause damage. The low heat output is an indication of their low energy consumption.

How long do LED lights last? |
|
Most LED lights can last well over 50,000 hours, which is about 5 years if kept on all day, everyday. LEDs traditionally lose about 30% of their brightness over the same 5-year period.

Can all LEDs lights be used with dimmer controls? |
|
No. Some LED lights are designed to be dimmed and some are not, depending on the amount of power provided to the LED and fixture.

Does the LED lifespan decrease whenthey are turned on and off? |
|

No, LED lighting is not affected by being turned on or off.

Do LED lights instantly turn on, or do they have a delay or warm up period? |
|
LED lights turn on instantly, unlike HID and Fluorescent lamps.

Can LED’s operate in cold temperatures? |
|
Yes, LEDs perform better in colder temperatures, which helps increase their lifespan, and is a reason they are better cold environment solutions than traditional fluorescent tubes.

Do all LEDs give off a white bluish light? |
|
No, LED lights now come in a variety of color temperatures that produce a range of white colors (cool-daylight, warm-golden) that are comparable to halogen and fluorescent lights. LED technology allows for a range of color temperatures (3000K-Warm White, 5000K – White, 6000K-Cool White) that can be used in a variety of residential and office environments.

Are all LEDs the same in brightness and color? |
|
No, all LEDs are not the same. Quality in brightness, color, and lifespan can vary tremendously. Less expensive LED's do not perform as advertised. At LBI we test our LEDs to ensure the best quality and performance for all or products.

Does Light Beam Industries manufacture its products? |
|
Yes, we do manufacture and assemble over 70% of our product line in our facility, with 30% being manufactured by our exclusive North American suppliers. We work with our supply partners to build LED lighting solutions using our specifications and high standards. Many of the products our suppliers build for LBI come from design and engineering developed in conjunction with our clients.

What are the advantages of LED lighting? |

There a many advantages to LED lighting over incandescent, fluorescent, HID light sources. Energy efficiency, low heat, no UV (UV LEDs are available), color matching, durability and life expectancy are a few of the advantages of LED lighting, when compared to traditional lighting solutions.
